The Four Free Hebrew Courses

hrcc rb

The National Jewish Outreach Program’s innovative introductory Hebrew program teaches participants to learn to read Hebrew in only five 1-1/2 hour weekly sessions.

NJOP's most popular program, has already taught more than 214,000* North American Jews to read Hebrew. Designed for Jews with little or no background in Hebrew, the free Hebrew Reading Crash Course concentrates on teaching the Hebrew alphabet, and reading skills.

77% of participants in this course go on to the Level II Hebrew course, or the Crash Course in Basic Judaism. (NJOP has also published Russian, Hungarian, & Spanish editions of the Reishith Binah primer to meet the needs of Jewish communities around the world.)

The HRCC materials are easy to teach. NJOP provides every teacher with a teacher’s handbook that guides them, step-by-step, through the Hebrew Reading Crash Course (includes wall chart and flash cards).

Each student receives a FREE copy of NJOP's Reishith Binah Hebrew primer.

The National Jewish Outreach Program’s Hebrew Reading
Crash Course Level II is designed to improve students' reading skills and fluency by introducing them to special pronunciation rules and basic Hebrew grammar to help them expand their Hebrew comprehension skills. Students will begin to recognize various parts of verbs and nouns, learn how to dissect words, and identify new words and phrases that will enable them to better understand the prayerbook.
Over 101,000* have participated in this program.

Level II uses familiar Hebrew prayers as instructional material.
There are four modules available: Adon Olam, Lecha Dodi,
Ma Nishtanah and Avinu Malkeinu.

Each student receives a FREE copy of the module used by their class

NJOP has taught over 213,000 Jews how to read the Aleph-Bet, now we want to teach them how to write it. The perfect follow-up to your Hebrew Reading Crash Course, NJOP’s Hebrew Writing Crash Course is a 3 hour class specially developed by NJOP to give students the additional skill of Hebrew writing while reinforcing the reading skills they learned in HRCC. It’s fun! It’s easy! And most of all, it’s the perfect follow-up!

As with all of NJOP’s Hebrew reading material, the HWCC comes with an easy-to-follow teacher’s manual that guides the teacher, step-by-step, how to teach the writing of Hebrew block letters.
